About Jess

My approach is deeply rooted in connection, compassion, and acceptance. I am passionate about assisting clients in discovering and connecting with their own inner wisdom and strengths, as well as gently supporting the process of change. I believe that most change happens in a safe, caring relationship and the role of the therapist is to create such relationship through genuine empathy, curiosity, and attunement; seeking to support the client in the work of knowing themselves more deeply and continuously returning the client back to themselves and their knowing. We all have parts that may feel loud, chaotic, or complex, I work to hold space for clients to gently explore these areas in a non-judgmental and compassionate way. As I believe clients are the experts on themselves, this process is a collaborative work through a strengths based, anti-oppressive, and trauma informed perspective.

While I enjoy working with clients with a broad range of struggles, I have a special interest in supporting clients through life transitions, grief, and identity work, as well as working with those who have experienced trauma, attachment issues, and/or religious trauma. I have worked in a variety of capacities with folks of all ages, and have experience and/or training in anxiety, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), trauma, LGBTQIA+ community, social justice/anti-racism counseling, mindfulness, parenting support, religious trauma, death & loss, EMDR, and working with neurodivergent individuals. I received a master’s in counseling from Lewis & Clark College and a bachelor’s in psychology from Washington State University. I am licensed in the state of Washington and am currently under the supervision of Antonia Mueller, LPC in Oregon.

In my free time I enjoy sharing meals with friends, laughing with my kids (actually I love laughing with anyone), drinking good coffee and sparkling water, growing in my meditation practice, and trying to grow indoor house plants (emphasis on “trying”). As a lifelong learner I have a special fondness for reading, being curious, and finding beauty and wonder in everyday things and people I meet.
